Fine motor skills involve the small muscles of the body that enable such functions as writing, grasping small objects, and fastening.

Building fine motor skills in children can be accomplished through fun and play.

Like all our other Learning Trek classes,
this program will focus on providing
FUN activities
 that will
 get those fingers MOVING
and
encourage small motor development.

Activities such as:
play dough
stringing beads
sorting materials
lacing
stacking blocks
clothespins
paper clips
tweezers
tearing paper

Using a scissors properly can be
difficult for young children.

In this class we will work on scissor skills.
Children will learn the correct way to hold and cut with safety scissors.

We will also focus on the correct
 holding/grasp of a pencil
and using the pencil to draw lines or circles.

We will also encourage children to trace/write the letters of the alphabet and to also write their names.

Your child's fine motor development
is a very important part of their skill set.

Structured learning experiences
 in this class,
such as fun developmental play
and learning centers,
will help children develop their fine motor skills.
